Portugal to Host 1st Webmaster Show

LISBON, Portugal — From July 13-16, Portuguese adult webmasters will convene at the Lisbon Commercial Faire to discuss business and network at the country’s first webmaster congress, named the II Salão Internacional Erótico de Lisboa.

The webmaster congress is a part of a larger erotic fair, which is free to attend, but entrance to the webmaster portion will cost 20 Euros per day. Event organizers expect adult film studios, directors and pornstars to attend the four-day event.

The stated goal of the show is to “achieve an active participation and interaction with sponsors and webmasters that are interested in the Portuguese-speaking Internet — that includes countries like Brasil — as well as in other connected platforms, like cellphones.”

Over the course of four days, the program includes discussions about legal issues, traffic generation, payment methods, Internet and website security, and other issues pertinent to Spanish or Portuguese-speaking webmasters.

“The congress aims to provide a forum for exchange of information of all kinds and to stimulate responsible online publishing,” Natalia, one of the show’s organizers, said. “It might seem surprising, but the webmasters that are most interested in safe surfing are actually adult webmasters.

“We believe the second most important reason to attend a Congress like this — apart from the networking opportunity — is to receive and exchange information about anything from hardware and software to sponsor programs or content.”
